Sculptra

What is it?

Sculptra is a biostimulator that induces collagen production for volume restoration in the face and body. Its active ingredient is poly-L-lactic acid (PLLA), a biocompatible and biodegradable synthetic substance that has been used in various medical applications for many years. Sculptra is not a neurotoxin or a neuromodulator; it is a type of injectable dermal filler. Sculptra is unique among dermal fillers because it stimulates the body’s natural production of collagen, a protein that provides volume and structure to the skin.

How does it interact with skin?

Unlike other dermal fillers that provide immediate results, Sculptra offers gradual improvement as it triggers a natural response in the body to produce collagen. As the injection microparticles are absorbed, the rebuilding of collagen strands begin to gradually restore volume and the look of fullness to wrinkles and folds.

What’s the downtime?

There is technically no downtime required after being treated with Sculptra, however, massaging for 5 minutes, 5 times daily, for 5 days after each treatment session is highly recommended. This will help provide even distribution of Sculptra to promote natural-looking correction. Use moisturizing agent when massaging to prevent friction.

How many treatments are needed?

We recommend a  series of three treatment sessions over the course of a few months. Each patient’s desired outcome will affect how many treatments they need.

Treatment Cost

$700-$1200

per treatment.
