What is it?
Laser technology that heats up the skin intraorally and stimulates collagen production and tightens the soft tissues in the mouth and oral cavity. This can result in a more youthful appearance and reduce signs of aging in the lips, cheeks, and other areas. The effects are an overall improvement of tightness and elasticity of the skin along with a plumping effect, much like a filler.
How does it interact with skin?
A controlled and gentle non-ablative laser is used to target the tissues within the inner cheeks. This targeted laser pulse is precisely directed at the mucosal membrane inside the mouth, utilizing very low speeds. By applying the laser energy to this specific area, the treatment induces a thermal injury response, triggering a process of collagen remodeling.
What’s the downtime?
After the treatment you may experience some tenderness, and swelling that will diminish after a few hours and an immediate tightness and fullness of the area. You can resume daily activities immediately following the treatment.
How many treatments are needed?
We recommend a series of 3-4 treatments every 4 weeks to target specific concerns and give best possible results. Each patient’s desired outcome will affect how many treatments they need.
