What is it?
The Hollywood Laser Facial uses two laser combinations to help brighten and tighten the skin. Both lasers are non-ablative and help to lift unwanted pigment safely from the skin as well as create bulk heating within the dermis to stimulate collagen.
How does it interact with skin?
The first step uses a specific type of laser with a specific wavelength that is designed to target the excess pigment in the skin without harming the surrounding tissue. The laser energy is absorbed by the melanin (pigment) in the melasma patches, leading to the breakdown of the excess pigment. The second step uses a laser that creates bulk heating within the tissue, reaching anywhere between 40-42 degrees. This creates thermal damage to the collagen cells and gets them to start multiplying.
What’s the downtime?
There is no downtime with this treatment, however any laser service requires sunscreen application during the time of treatment. It is also advised to refrain from working out for 1 day.
How many treatments are needed?
A series of 4-6 treatments are recommended spaced 4 weeks apart from one another, however treatment intervals will vary per patient depending on the severity of their concerns.
